Description
Between 1898 and 1912 the SDJR build over 43 2 plank open wagons for use in the movement of general goods. These wagons were original built with fixed sides and rated at 8 tons but after 1904 they were built with a centre drop door in each side and some were up rated to 10 tons. In 1914 all of the SDJR’S revenue earning wagons were split between evenly the Midland and the LSWR. All departmental stock was retained in SDJR livery until 1930.
